About the Role

We are looking for a full-stack Lead Developer with deep backend expertise and strong front-end experience. You will write production code, guide day-to-day engineering delivery, and help shape technical direction across multiple projects.

This role is open to candidates located in North America or Latin America who can work within approximately four hours of Pacific Time.

What You’ll Do

• Lead day-to-day engineering work and keep small project teams aligned and unblocked.
• Architect scalable, enterprise-grade backend systems using Python and Java; Kotlin experience is a plus.
• Contribute to front-end development with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Drive decisions related to system design, performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Write clean, well-tested code and establish practical engineering standards.
• Own technical documentation, sprint planning support, code reviews, and reliable delivery.
• Evaluate and integrate AI-powered features and services into production systems.
• Translate technical trade-offs, risks, and opportunities into clear guidance for clients and internal teams.
• Partner with product managers and designers to scope solutions and lead client-facing technical conversations.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to hiring, onboarding, feedback, and team development.

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including senior or lead-level responsibility.
• Professional English and strong communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Production experience with both Python and Java, including system architecture and performance optimization.
• Strong knowledge of React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Experience building enterprise-grade systems with scalability, security, performance, and maintainability in mind.
• Strong understanding of clean code principles, testing discipline, code review, Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture, and Domain-Driven Design.
• Backend experience with APIs, SQL and NoSQL databases, AWS or GCP, and distributed systems.
• Experience with service-oriented architecture, API gateways, and inter-service communication such as GraphQL or gRPC.
• Comfort working from an ambiguous brief, asking the right questions, and delivering without heavy supervision.
• Experience leading technical discussions, demos, roadmap reviews, and collaborative planning.
• Practical familiarity with AI/LLM integration patterns, including prompt design and output-quality management.

Nice to Have

• Kotlin experience.
• Experience with RAG, MCP, AI agents, orchestration frameworks, or AI-augmented internal tools.
• Experience with creator platforms, media tools, or community-driven products.
• Interest in developer experience, automation, and DevOps tooling.

Compensation & Benefits

• CAD $130,000–$160,000 annually; compensation may vary based on location, experience, and competencies.
