The role

Forward Deployed Engineer, Site Infrastructure & WordPress. Full-time remote contractor opportunity for candidates based in Brazil or Latin America. You will partner with account managers and client engineering and IT teams to deploy, troubleshoot and maintain reliable content delivery. This is a hands-on client infrastructure role, not core product feature development. You will work with the WordPress specialist and engineering lead and report to the co-founder.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and validate reverse-proxy rewrites across client environments, such as Cloudflare Workers, AWS CloudFront, Azure Front Door, Netlify, Vercel and nginx. Configure headers, caching, host handling and Content Security Policy (CSP). These are examples of client stacks, not a requirement to have used every platform.
• Own production WordPress setup, Home URL and permalink configuration, canonicals, custom-plugin activation and tokens, caching, and security hardening, including wp-admin/login exposure and access management.
• Maintain sitemaps, robots.txt, llms.txt, indexing, Google Search Console properties, redirects and 301 plans.
• Join client calls, explain setup requirements to IT and security teams, and address technical diligence questions about content ownership, canonicalization and security reviews.
• Write clear, accurate, stack-specific setup guides and operational runbooks that client teams can follow.
• Handle migrations and unusual hosting setups, including subdomain-to-subdirectory moves, multilingual paths and transitions from WordPress to headless CMS platforms such as Strapi or Contentful.
• Proactively detect broken proxies, disabled plugins, indexing drops and traffic anomalies; investigate and close the loop before clients notice.
• Turn field findings into clear bug reports and improvement requests for the engineering team.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of hands-on experience delivering and operating websites across different hosting and CDN environments; minimum 5 years overall.
• Deep practical production WordPress experience covering themes, plugins, multisite, performance and security.
• Solid understanding of DNS, CDNs and reverse proxies, with the ability to configure them directly.
• Working knowledge of technical SEO: crawling, indexing, canonicals, redirects, sitemaps and Google Search Console.
• Fluent spoken and written English, including explaining technical concepts to senior and non-technical US and Brazilian clients.
• Careful operational judgment: communicate before changing client sites, test changes before release, and obtain sign-off before destructive or bulk actions.
• Proactive, responsive and reliable in client meetings and follow-through.
• Based in Brazil or Latin America. Experience primarily limited to no-code or AI site builders is insufficient; production WordPress and infrastructure expertise is essential.

Nice to have

• Portuguese and/or Spanish.
• Agency or multi-client delivery experience.
• Schema and structured-data knowledge.
• Scripting with JavaScript, Python or PHP to automate checks; these are alternatives, not three mandatory languages.
• Curiosity about how AI systems crawl and cite web content.

Compensation and engagement

Estimated compensation: approximately US$5,000–6,000 per month for a Brazil/Latin America-based contractor, subject to confirmation. Equivalent annual range: US$60,000–72,000. The engagement starts with a paid trial period.
